Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns the response. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or contact submission as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive these technical details:
- Page-view times and dates
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Your device's IP address
- A referring site, when present
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. Along with analytics services, they help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. You may block cookies in browser settings, although doing so can change how parts of the website function.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search to the selected partner service
- Maintaining performance and availability
- Diagnosing technical faults
- Measuring which content is useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site explains how to reach the San Miguel County Sheriff, San Miguel Combined Courts, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and Colorado Sex Offender Registry. Colorado criminal-justice record access is governed by the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 through 24-72-309, while other public records may fall under the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-200.1 through 24-72-205.5. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted terms, retention, and sharing, and we do not control those practices. Review the applicable provider policy before searching.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Sheriff, courts, Colorado agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving page ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on residence and applicability, Colorado consumer-protection law, including the Colorado Privacy Act, C.R.S. §§ 6-1-1301 through 6-1-1313, may provide rights over personal data. You may:
